TJC Ignatian Advent Meditations in Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C.

Tanner, for inspiration, Jim Conroy, S.J., led a series of Ignatian Advent meditations.  Members of The Jesuit Collaborative community gathered in Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C., in prayerful anticipation of our Lord's coming and enjoyed festive receptions following the meditations.  Continue Reading »

Who We Are Becoming

As The Jesuit Collaborative has developed over the past couple of years, who we are has been both a question of mission and identity and a matter of faith in the power of Ignatian Spirituality and the Spiritual Exercises to transform people’s lives.  Who we are became clearer during The Conference on Ignatian Spirituality: Who We Are Before God held at Fordham University this past June.  Through their presence and the sharing of their journeys with each other, those in attendance attested to who we are before God.

CLIA Opens in Two New Cities

Last year, The Jesuit Collaborative sponsored the development of the Contemplative Leaders In Action (CLIA) program in New York, under the guidance of Chris Lowney, a Collaborative board member, David McCallum, S.J., and Alison Donohue, program coordinator. This year, as the original group continues and a new cohort begins in New York, the Collaborative has expanded CLIA to Philadelphia and Boston.    Continue Reading »

Spending the Summer with Ignatius

When the provincials of the Eastern U.S. established The Jesuit Collaborative in the summer of 2006, one of its key mandates was to develop new ways of forming people who would be able to direct the Spiritual Exercises and help form others to do so.  The last Jesuit Congregation had mandated the ministry of the Exercises as one of the most important works of the Society of Jesus. James R. Conroy, S.J. is appointed Executive Director of The Jesuit Collaborative

June 19, 2009 – James Shea, S.J., Maryland Provincial, David Ciancimino, S.J., New York Provincial, and Thomas Regan, S.J., New England Provincial, and the Board of Directors of The Jesuit Collaborative, Inc., are pleased to announce that James R. Conroy, S.J., has been named the new executive director of The Jesuit Collaborative. Fr. Conroy will succeed Ron Mercier, S.J., who led The Jesuit Collaborative during its first three years. Fr.
